Yesterday I finished what I would liken to a Nanny Boot Camp.
Five 10+ hours workdays; my first with a new family, especially their wonderful four-year-old son, and the circle of people around them enlisted to give support for the parents in shaping the childhood impressions of their son in the ways they believe will be most beneficial for the person he is and will be becoming. I slept too little , I worried too much too often , I didn't go to the gym at all , and I laughed and got really dirty more than I have in at least a year .
Now before I head to bed, for a long sleep and a sleep in for the first time in five day; I want to say that it was worth it.
This was an exceptional week, and not representative of the schedule I will have going forward: a mix of a trial by fire and crash course at the get-go that, having survived it, provided me with confidence in my ability to contribute, and with maximum exposure to those I will be working with.
I also found it a reminder.
Of that Life is Live; it is a process and a journey and not something I attend. Also that challenges are the scaffolds of growth; with the gains exponential to the amount I give in taking them on.
